hAP lite vs hAP lite classic

Sat Mar 19, 2016 12:33 am

Woohoo! That feel when you enter routerboard.com and there's NEW STUFF from MikroTik and you feel like child in candies shop  Then I found it's rebooted old stuff tho but still...

So today I've noticed new RB - hAP lite classic. As I wanted to add hAP lite to my MT collection this week, new option made me reconsider it. If it'd be actually exactly the same device I'd probably go for normal hAP lite as it's gonna be home secondary AP anyways so well... I actually quite like hAP lite design especially when it's more home oriented device, but then I noticed:

Wireless chip model QCA9531
Wireless chip model QCA9533

so there apparently are some small differences between them. Are there any other? Do those chips differ much? I don't need this thing to be wall mountable or anything, no stacking. Router will be probably portable thing plugged and powered from laptop in case I'd need something more tough than mAP lite I use atm. Plus typically I'll probably use it as wifi extension to living room. Which one is better in terms of specs if any.

Interesting ... I'm glad they returned to the original case.
