Has anyone tried using http://routerboard.com/Splus85DLC03D on Linux?  How is the driver support?

Not me, but I'm currently using http://routerboard.com/SplusDA0001 with a SolarFlare SFN5162.  I use both of these on a FreeNAS and a CentOS 6 KVM hypervisor hooked up to a CRS226.  iperf results got me about 9.8 Gbps between the two.

That is just a transceiver for it alone there is no drivers needed. As long as SFP+ adapter in which you plan to use it has no SFP vendor lockin enabled it should be fine.

For your HP server, i highly recommend to have NC560 dual SFP+ NIC with Intel x520 chip.
Works very well with linux and natively supported by Mikrotik x86 version as well.
