Any updates about this? After reading some of your posts I have bought the ZISA SFP module recently and I will be playing with it as soon as I receive it.

I have a Huawei ONT provided by Movistar/Telefonica (Spain) and a Mikrotik CRS210-8G-2S+IN device as CPE.

If anyone can provide me some insights regarding how to obtain/identify the parameters necessary for negotiation from SFP unit to OLT Telco side.

Anyone already played to substitute Movistar ONTs?

Check the SN, I think there are always 4 letters that identify the manufacturer + 8 numbers.

I'm in the same situation as last posts. I'm trying to get movistar ftth working with Zisa gpon sfp+ module. In my particular case SN matches mac address from HGU all-in-one router/ont/crap provided by ISP movistar.

Hi

To configure the Zisa, you need to plug the fiber in, plug the sfp into the router. When it comes online you need to configure an ip into that router sfp leg, of the range 192.168.1.0/24 except .1 which is the IP of the sfp.

then FROM the router, you can connect to 192.168.1.1 with telnet and use user/passd "twmanu" then follow the instructions here: https://www.valero-torres.es

I've read it all... I am not from Spain but I have the same situation. I also have HPSP2120 and I wanted to use it with RB953GS but... NO LINK (RX LOSE when I connect the cable). I have seen the solution from @CarlitoxxPro but it seems to be very complicated. Is there any way to easily reprogram this module? Is there any other module which is easily programmable or via MikroTik ROS? Desoldering and programming the chip from it is so hardcore. Has anybody found a way to reprogram it without desoldering the chip ?

How do You mean Mikrotik SFP module? You mean this one https://mikrotik.com/product/SFPONU ? I would buy it if it is going to work... but, what I have learned is that every ONU/ONT must be authorized on OLT side by the provider. They are authorized with the serial number and some of them also with MAC address. If this one from mikrotik allows us to change these parameters then we would be able to use it instead of cheap trash routers. You can check this thread and You will find one post where our mikrotik friend from Spain explains what he did... He had to desolder the chip from SFP module and then program it using the hardware eeprom programmer in order to set a different serial number and other parameters. I hope so some of them will make a post about this to explain us with more details and steps.

Its correct, we found a way to configure correctly a module SFP GPON ONU to work very well with our routers mikrotik and differents ISP in spain like ORANGE, MOVISTAR and JAZZTEL, updating the firmware of our module and setting the SN, SLID(password) and other things required by some ISP like ORANGE and JAZZTEL, via web ui and telnet, no configurations needed on router mikrotik, this works like a traditional ONT (external).

Is very sad than mikrotik doesn't care their customers and dont provide any type of solution to this topic, but our effort to get the solution gived the success and now we are very happy with this solution, after a huge quantity of hours of test and fails, we got it..

I have a similar situation with the OP151S GPON!
But I managed to setup GEMPORT-s and VLAN for IPTV.
So I'm able to se IPTV stream and I can decode it and watch it with VLC,
but my problem is that I can not set up properly UpStram GEMPORT so
I'm no abele to make WAN working!

Does any one know how to set properly WAN on OP151S ???

No it's possible because hpsp is a tradicional sfp module, but disa is a router same as your company's ont, you configure from disa internal website, no from mikrotik interface.

I try use Huawei HPSP2120, at start of post you can see photos, i try rewrite eeprom, but in can't access to memory map zone, and it's more difficult than disa.

Just did this, with Orange Spain. Worked straight away.

I don't know how to help you. I'm still learning about GPON and I just followed the OP's thread above since I'm with the same ISP using the same SFP.

In your situation, I would start by setting up a known good setup (ie. use the ISP's own ONT/Router/IPTV Box) then sniff the packets by putting a MikroTik between Router and IPTV box and using a bridge.

Someone has got the Zisa module working with movistar?

Orange's LiveBox (ONT+Router+AP combo) actually shows this on the WebUI. When I had Movistar I had a separate ONT + Router, maybe there is a way to get onto the ONT (not the router)'s WebUI and take it from there?

I configured the Zisa with Yoigo / Masmovil and it worked without problems.

Simply add a VLAN interface putting the master interface as the SFP port.

may be I was a bit unclear. I can't get OP151S SFP in mode to send any data through GPON optics, but I can configure it to be in state 5-OPERATIONAL with ranging UNKNOWN. Even with ranging unknown I can receive packets. I can also configure GEMPORT-s to watch neighbor IPTV traffic, but I can't set the DHCP Client on OP151S to get my IP address. To do that I must set VLAN ID to be 100 (I had sniffed packets on my ISP router). So when I'm using telnet to OP151S I can see 4 interfaces and the wan is configured without VLAN. So if I set vlan manually like wan.100 I can't get any traffic to pass wan except tx packets. Is it possible to put OP151S in bridge mode? My ISP is using VLAN 802.1q and 802.1ad (QinQ), but OP151S is only supports VLAN set through OMCI protocol which is not provided by my ISP.

Yeah, like I said, you need to define a VLAN subinterface on the Sfp1 port and set your DHCP client (and Nat rules) on the VLAN interface, not SFP.

Most of the time it’s not QinQ but service tag, try setting the VLAN interface to “Service Tag” mode.

If it’s really QinQ, you can configure this on MikroTik too... check the wiki docs

You need the CalitosxxPro "GPON-ONU-STICK-CPGOS03-0490" module to use openwrt.

So I've tried to do this again on a new Orange Spain connection, but this time I can't get it past the INIT stage.

I did change the Serial Number and the PLOAN (ONT Password) on the ZISA SFP, but I suspect that Orange are no checking for firmware version too, but I don't know how to change these on the ZISA.
My Orange Livebox has "AR_LBFIBRA_sp-00.03.05.211D" which seems to have been compiled on Wed Jun 20 17:04:34 2018.

Does anyone know how to change the reported firmware version on the ZISA?

PS: I got in touch with Carlitoxx to buy their SFP, but they are currently out of stock. I'll buy their SFP as soon as they get stock anyway, as theirs is compatible with CCRs and is much easier to configure.

contact carlito on facebook, I think he ship, I have this one S-Gpon-Onu from mikrotik, but I don't know why mikrotik doesn't make it easy to change S/N and other papramters to suit ISP ones. Most of ISPs use autoconfiguration for their onu units, and it's impossible that they can allow yours to access their networks

How did you create the modified firmware images for the ZISA OP151S that can be downloaded from https://www.valero-torres.es/? I can study the structure of the files with binwalk, find header, kernel and squashfs and can modify everything with the firmware-mod-kit (https://github.com/rampageX/firmware-mod-kit/wiki). However, the repacked image won't be accepted due to a checksum mismatch.

It seems to me that the first 1024 bytes of the firmware files contain a couple of checksums, e.g. at addresses

0x208
0x21c
0x220

How are these checksums computed? Any ideas?

I'm interested in getting rid of the "All-In-One" router from Movistar and I got excited reading this post and CarlitoxxPro&Valero's work thinking hat there's a slighyhly chance to do it. I was thinking in buying the Mikrotik SFP GPON ONU but I've seen here that there's no way to change it's SN and so on to make the OLT think that it's one of it's ONTs so my question here is, where can I manage to get one of hte Zisa's SFP GPON ONT? I wrote directly to Zisa but they're out of stock and I wrote also to CarlitoxxPro but no answer yet (I wrote to him yesterday thoug).

I think the providers have tightened up their ONT checks in the ‘newer’ rollouts - or I’m just unlucky.

Dear all,
after a long fight with this Zisa SFP I´ll explain my situation:

My Hardware: Mikrotik CCR1036-12G-4S (ROS 6.44.2) + ZISA OP151S

When received the modeule I had to update the firmware to be able change LoID/PloamPWD/IdONT.
After that, logged by Telnet and updated Serial Number by the one of my Mitrastar and cloned also MAC of my ONT. Still not working. (i changed MAC of SFP1) by terminal in my Mikrotik.


I used the steps explained in the link below. Except the mac address change that was my decision after test all other possibilities.

I Can say that I didn't update files nº2 and nº3 that are mentioned in te link. I'm not sure that are extremely necessary in my scenario with Movist.

LOGED IN MITRASTAR by WEB:
192.168.1.1/instalación: 1234/"Mitrastar Password"
- Here we can read IDont, serial and MAC address.

LOGED IN MITRASTAR by SSH: admin/"Mitrastar pass"
> ponshowmac (shows ONT mac address)

> transmitterinfo ( shows vendor name, vendor SN in Mitrastar )
mine shows:
Vendor Name: MSTC_GN25L95
Vendor SN: S180Yxxxxxxxx

I'm not 100% sure but I think there are around 4 left possible causes that are affecting me:


1st: Serial Number to change in Zisa are the ones shown in Mitrastar by ("transmitterinfo" command or the one shown in 192.168.1.1/instalación)
- I can imagine the one in 192.168.1.1/instalación. is the only one that have 4 letters and 8 characters.

2nd: MAC address have to be changed? if true Could we use Mikrotik Terminal? or is can be changed by telnet in Zisa Gpon? I'll still checking.

3rd: Sometimes when Mikrotik shows SFP info like voltage etc.. Mikrotik reboots. (tile/rOS incompatibility) link goes up when fiber plug.. seems all ok. but. (not always shows sfp parameters) I think the most provable cause of fail.

4th: and the most strange thing: we know that this ISP I mentioned uses vlan 6,3,2. when we setup by web interface in Mitrastar router all vlans are created as that vlan ID's.
but: by SSH when in Mitrastar I type command below shows:

well: finally the problem was the firmware version. after update and changing (idONT, Serial Number, MAC ) services are working in Movist. ISP in Spain, for sure the rest also will work. I don't know if MAC have to be changed, but I did it for safety. I heard that ID and Serial are enough.

Still waiting answer.. I sent some mail but nothing.
If finally you use Zisa try default firmware, my problem was a firmware that became in freezes when trying to upgrade idONT by web, then I found a list of all telnet menu options and was easy to manage in telnet.
after upgrading my firmware to the one I posted few days ago, upgrading idONT from web was fine and the rest by telnet.

Now works really fine the following:
PPPoE over vlan6 for Data, vlan3 for VoIP that works fine also.
What I'm still trying is setup the vlan2 wich is used for IPTV. I have all routes in RIP, interfaces in IGMP Proxy setting etc. All config required by the ISP was configured and checked.
I Understand that if Vlan3 wich is used for VoIP service works vlan2 would be fine too. I don't know if wrong setup by my side or ISP change some setting in that service because was just contracted 2 or 3 weeks ago.
If someone is fighting also with this we can work together.

Look at the box and label. Most information should be there. Huawei devices use the same format:

MAC: 8866390A1F9B
GPON Serial Number: HWTC071F9B93

GPON password should be 10 digits long if listed in ASCII format: 4703578867 or hex(34 37 30 33 35 37 38 38 36 37)

Where is it located?
It will depend on the device or provider. I would start by login to the device by using web and telnet and looking around.

What is the benefit of running openwrt on SFP? There's no wireless.

Openwrt is is for routers (for routing) not just for managing ap wifi. Openwrt have that same purpose like RouterOS from Mikrotik, but openwrt is open source [emoji3]

I mentioned adapter because in my country ISP's rarely install a wall SC/APC socket, instead they attach directly to fiber cable (that going directly from wall) the SC/APC plug to the router.

Look at sshe file, there is how to connect to the sfp and get optical link parameters (and how to put them into excel) - I just scrolled through the file only so I might be wrong [emoji6]
Setting access to module on mikrotik might be a tricky but possible ( I managed to setup hg612 with access to it via single cable , while all guides was saying that is not possible with only one cable).

The document have some interesting information. I wish I had a module in my hands to experiment with
Part about using SmartBits 600B performance testing certainly will not apply to me. Can't afford such equipment. On the page 4 they included instructions about optical calibration by transmitting 1.25G of random 1's and 0's continuosly toward network. IMO those lines should be removed.

SPS3424THPTDFO and telnet IP is 192.168.1.10 reminds me our Alcatel units. same login IP, same serial SPS on unconfigured units. In Canada we are connected to Nokia/Alcatel or Huawei optical splitters. ISP supplies users with three types of units Huawei - ma5671a Alcatel/Nokia - g-010s-a or g-010s-p

Don't worry what you see on the Mikrotik screen. it uses i2c bus to read eprom's "burned" serial number. Your gpon module will get serial and password from environment variables area.

My tv box came originally with g-010s-a which later I swapped for g-010s-p. The unit is very well tuned(important if you live far from the optical splitter)
pass and snumber change took me 5 minutes. very easy, couple of commands and you are set. Check my notes

Blue: SC / UPC

The one that puts the ISPs in Spain is the Verde: SC / APC, right?

Mostly sfp modules have SC/UPC (blue). In plastic modems you can find APC (green), or (blue) UPC. So, if you have a green APC plug from wall , you just need a SC APC to SC UPC patchcord and SC APC (simplex) adapter.

Sorry, I can't answer exactly what you want to know, but using adapter and patchcord works fine, if you don't have yet fiber then look for what you need after you have installed modem from ISP because they can install modem with SC/APC or SC/UPC (depends what they have at hand)

Yeah, but I need that my Mikrotik, with a transceiver S-85DLC05D inside, works. Only one device and only one power unit.
If the next RouterOS 6.xx or 7.00 don't do so, why to continue with Mikrotik? Sure I'll find another brand.

If it is not too inconvenient for you, please provide software images for HL23446 and DFP-34G-2C2. In the past I have successfully reflashed images between different brands. As long they have similar hardware design, processor, RAM and flash size, it will work fine. Chinese sfp are usually generic. Should not contain private informations.

At minimum, images of "uboot_env" and "linux/image0" known as mtd1 and mtd2 are needed for this test. For your own backup save all partitions except: rootfs rootfs_data

sfp partition mapping can be obtained by command.

mtd0: 00040000 00010000 "uboot"
mtd1: 00080000 00010000 "uboot_env"
mtd2: 00740000 00010000 "linux"
mtd3: 0061eedc 00010000 "rootfs"

to transfer mtd partition search for and use live linux distribution. e.g. Ubuntu
On the linux computer setup a fixed IP (same subnet as sfp stick) e.g. 192.168.1.12. Open terminal.

root@ubuntu:/# nc -l -p 4444 > mtd1.bin
-l listen
-p port number

now on the sfp stick send the mtd to the linux pc

root@SFP:/# cat /dev/mtd1 | nc 192.168.1.12 4444

Repeat for mtd2. Zip the files and post it on the Mega.nz site

Thank you for this great thread. I'm also interested in replacing SERCOMM FGS202 that is provided by Orange, my ISP.
The module works fine in a Mikrotik hAP AC but it does not work on a board I have (ClearFog GT 8K) that runs mainline linux (no link detected)
Did you eventually manage to have one of the clone working ? Is it stable enough ? I'd like to purchase HL23446 of DFP-34G-2C2 but I'd like some of your inputs first.

You do not know how to change the pon sn of the ma5671a module. Access to it is available only on port 22 via CLI
