About which device are you talking about? All of our devices which has some software installed on them has reset button with which you can either reset device to factory configuration and in some cases do even more.

I mean slit lite lhg disk lite rb912
The difficulty lies you must download the widget from the tower to reset the factory why not upgrade the reset button from the Poe

Completely disagree. The number of times this functionality has reset a radio on a tower because water wicked into a cable or any number of other things... A power-sequence based reset like Cambium have might be a good option, but we end up disabling that also on most devices because of unintentionally triggering it.

You shouldn't need to access the reset button on your devices very often...

This is a dangerous suggestion. You want people to be able to reset the device from a remote location? Often that PoE location is not private and is shared.

The problem is that you get the piece in a high tower and you have to step up and do a factory reset. This is dangerous. Sometimes rb lhg has problems. It has a lot of problems, so it does a sudden reset and sometimes needs to be accessed. My English is not good

You can produce a similar piece of poe ubnt as an extra piece only when you need to reset it without having to climb up to the tower

Unfortunately, there is no answer. We always propose solutions, but you do not respond

Use TR-069 to control your hard to reach devices.
Name an example when you need factory reset and have NO OTHER means of access.

Your are correct on this but like many things in life the correct solution is not always covering all things.

A person or firm can choose to expose a point of failure to create a more workable situation. As long the risks are clear and as much as posible minimized by taking other measurements.

See above. If you can reach the PoE injector, you most likely can have access over MAC, or TR-069. If the unit has no signs of life at all, it probably needs to be serviced anyway. If you have good examples of situations when this happens and a simple RESET helps .... please share.

PLEASE READ ABOVE ANSWER.

If device is accessible, issue software reset. If not accessible by IP, connect to it with MAC. If not responding, issue a reboot.
There are no situations where a simple RESET will help your device on the tower!

I propose a hardware solution.
Add a photocoupler, like 4N35, and a resistor. Connected near the reset button to command it remotely with two wire by a voltage, for example the power voltage.

This option may be implemented in all wireless system device, and can be enable/connected or not by the user during installation.
