Hi all,
I got a rb411, with a R52 card which I have now tested to be misbehaving (using the examples in wiki for testing the card using multimeter - ESD damage). Earlier I did experience a reboots of RB every time the temperature dropped to around 0c, so I just put this RB aside and did not use it. Now the whether has gotten better so I tried it again, but I somehow see the connection is not that strong. I tried an omni antenna too, but the signal is weaker than my other of-the-shelf wifi router sitting next to it (RB even had a stronger antenna). That is what made me test the card. Also the card gets somewhat hot, even after short time and no traffic.
I don't have another card to test, so I have to somehow justify buying another one, but I would hate to find out that the fault is also with RB.
So, my question is, could a faulty R52 card cause a reboot of routerboard? Otherwise the capacitors seem fine on the RB, at least to my eyes (I'm no expert).
Thanks everybody for the time,
D
