Can cAP ac and hEX PoE power Hikvision cameras ?

Tue May 08, 2018 4:37 pm

Can I connect following camera to cAP ac, in order to get power and data from it:
https://www.hikvision.com/en/Products/N ... 725FWD-IZS
I'm confused about fact that it's 12v camera and cAP ac adapter is 24v and poe-out is passive. Is it safe to use mentioned camera ?

Also, I planned to connect 4 of following cameras to hEX PoE or RB260GSP:
https://www.hikvision.com/en/Products/N ... 5FWD-I5/I8
They are also 12v cameras. Do I just use provided 24v-2.5A power adapter or do I need 12v adapter ?

Thanks

Since mentioned cameras support PoE (802.3af Class3), you should be able to power them from hEX PoE using a 48-57V power adapter:

Since cAP AC supports Passive PoE-Out up to 57 V, you can try to power cameras, it might work. more information about high voltage passive mode:

And yes, it's safe to attach high voltage (48-57 V) PoE cable to these cameras.

PaulsMT, thank you for your answer !
Just to be certain, included 24V - 2.5A adapter won't be enough for device itself and 4 mentioned cameras ?
Which adapter should I buy ?
Would MikroTik 48POW https://mikrotik.com/product/48POW be OK ?

Yes, included adapter is low voltage. The mentioned adapter is available separately and will provide 48V output for your cameras

i think will be more robust to go with this power supply

https://mikrotik.com/product/48v2a96w

remember to feed power to the hEX PoE by barrel connector not BY PoE in
