switch-chip in hAP ac^2

Fri May 18, 2018 9:54 pm

Hello Mikrotik!

I have question about block diagram for hAP ac^2

Here you write, that hAP use AR8327 integrated in IPQ-4018
https://i.mt.lv/routerboard/files/RBD52 ... 082323.png

If we looking on official datasheet:
https://www.qualcomm.com/media/document ... -brief.pdf
ipq-4018 really have integrated switch engine

On the otherside in qualcomm datasheet we see QFE8075 5/2 ports GE PHY (5 eth + 2 lanes each 1 Gbps?)

So if we open hAP ac^2, we can see QCA8075 between IPQ-4018 and physical inerfaces.

Can you explain more detailed, it is error or what?

the device identifies itself as Atheros-8327.
[admin@tgcpe2] /interface ethernet switch> print detail
Flags: I - invalid
 0 name="switch1" type=Atheros-8327 mirror-source=none mirror-target=none
the QFE8075/2 is just a PHY and it is not part of the SOC. the block diagram you pasted from the qualcomm datasheet also shows the QFE outside of the SOC as a possible add-on accessory. and it is also present on the photo of the hAP ac2, right on the bottom.
