Extending CRS109 network via RB951G-2HnD

Hi there,

I have a CRS109 as my primary home router connecting fibre WAN to my home LAN, with an RB260 switch connecting all the devices in my AV centre to the network.

The CRS109 is mounted in the power cabinet in the garage, and at times the WiFi signal down the very back of the house where my office is is a bit weak.

It's not a problem for my PC as it's connected to the wired LAN, however as I only have 1 LAN socket in the office and the WiFi signal is weak, i figured I could 'kill two birds with one stone' by putting a cheaper router/switch and just get it functioning as a switch and additional AP.

All i want it to do is function as a multi port ethernet switch for up to 3-4 devices, and extend the existing wireless N network.

I know the RB951G-2HnD is capable of doing this, but is it overkill? And can someone please point me to a guide on how to set up a RouterOS unit solely as a switch/AP repeater? I've had the Mikrotik unit for some time and am comfortable operating it, however I'm no network engineer or even have much more than a passing understanding of protocols, so a simple guide would be best! :)

Thanks for any help/assistance!

If a 2G WiFi network is sufficient, this is a good solution. Configuration is straight forward:
[*]factory reset without default configuration
[*]put all interfaces on the same switch (or bridge)
[*]configure wireless as required
