Hello everybody. I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding firmware upgrading. I haven't found anything detailing as to why I should perform a RouterBoard firmware/bootloader upgrade and not just a packages upgrade. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me why I should do that and also what the firmware is responsible for if anything besides the routers boot operation. I also apologize for the mundane question.

I have the same question. Also has anyone had any issues upgrading the firmware? I have a Groove and hAP lite running great with updated packages though on factory firmware. I would hate to trash either at this point so just wondering if anyone had any advice or warnings on this topic. Thanks.
