Mikrotik and LTE cat6

Wed Oct 03, 2018 2:01 pm

Hi. Is there anyone successfully running mini-PCIe LTE Cat6 modems in mikrotik products, and getting acceptable speed and stability?
Wap LTE kit works great but lacks speed because of LTE cat4.
From what I can see on wiki it might be possible to use a LTE cat6 mini-PCI, but probably have to use PPP to connect it. And google/forum gives a lot of stories on low speed when connecting this way.

I love the idea of a Mikrotik LTE outdoor device powered by POE, but without cat6 I am stuck with other products....

No news on the supported bands for Europe/Intl. Also, no word on UL performance and characteristics. I bet MT went for 50Mbps for uplink, in 2019 no less. :(

Search for TV7R11ELTE6 using the FCC search page. Looks like bands 2, 5, 7, 12, 17, 25, 26, 38, 39, 41.
Frequency range: 699-2690MHz.

Those are not EU or intl. bands.

Half of the world uses bands 1, 3, 8, 20, etc.

Also, I bet you a beer that UL won't even reach 75Mbps.

FCC page doesn't have much info yet. Probably still a few months away from MikroTik telling us what is supports.
Band 28 for Australia would have been nice.

CAT6 by spec is 300 down and 50 up, as quoted by numerous sources (ex: https://www.cablefree.net/wirelesstechn ... finitions/)
