Re: RB4011: wlan1 disabling itself

Mon Apr 06, 2020 2:26 pm

What's new in 6.47beta54 (2020-Apr-06 06:32):

Changes in this release:

*) wireless - improved 5GHz interface stability on RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD and Audience;
*) wireless - improved system stability on hAP ac^2;
With great knowledge comes great responsibility, because of ability to recognize id... incompetent people much faster.

great news! I use v.6.46.2 and only when I activate 5GHz WiFi my RB4011 restarts once a week unexpectedly

Hello,

I am on 6.47beta8 and have no issues with 5 GHz band. Everything works fine for months.

my router frequently detecting radar on 5gh and during this time SSID is gone from environment for less 1min and then back again.

In this case you should configure wireless to only use non-DFS channels (channels 32-48, 5160 MHz to 5240 MHz). When wireless is operating on DFS channels, it is obliged to stop any trasmission if it detects possible radar signal. It has to monitor the channel for a minute and if it doesn't detect another "suspicious" activity, it can resume operation. The problem for many devices is to filter radar signals from other activity and thus they suffer from frequent positive mis-detections.

It is possible that device detects own activity as possible radar signal ... specially if device is placed close to reflective surface (metallic structure, concrete wall, ...). Sometimes moving device by 10 centimetres (a few inches) helps with this problem.
