PWR-Line block diagram - lack of PLC interface?

Fri Dec 14, 2018 11:07 pm

So uh... This diagram on website:

Doesn't include powerline link interface. So how this device implement visibility of powerline link in ROS? Is it like PPP Serial similar to 3G modems? Or regular ethernet? Or something else?

Does it allow for regular interaction like using VLANs etc? How about MTU?

I don't have the PWR-Line but I have a smilar kit from TP-Link (AV1200 8030 something) and it uses Qualcomm/Atheros chipset. Using VLAN works fine.

My guess is that the PLC-chipset (AR7420) is connected to one of the (5) integrated ports on the QCA9533 with RMII-interconnect. So it's basically Ethernet.

Manages some CCR's, RB750Gr3, RB922 and wAP's

It is true, PWR-Line interface appears as another wired interface in the RouterOS.
