I have a microtik R411U routerboard located at a remote site, for intermittent upload of images and data. The unit is 12V DC powered, and uses a timer to directly power the routerbourd six times a day for a short period to allow snapshot images and data to be posted to a site. I have had one routerboard fail, but suspected a nearby lightening strike. Am I causing an issue with flash memory burn out with this constant power cycling ?.
