Which RB devices are upgraded to have USR LED and MODE button?

Hi all!

It has come to my attention that some RB devices are upgraded to have "USR" LED and "MODE" button.
An example would be the hAP lite model which originaly didn't have MODE button, but at some point they started selling models with same name with MODE button (only it's not clear enough if it have "USR" LED also, or if the "ACT" led can be used for scripting).

It would be nice to have this information updated on "hardware" portion of mikrotik.com site or to list it somewhere (on the site we also have old product pictures).
Maube to list, for example "MODE" button, and to put star next to it, and on the stared footnote say: "available on this model since e.g.11.2018.").
Maube also to list this in the recently discussed product matrix table.

For now, can someone please list SOHO, indoor, WiFi capable RouterBoards that have both "MODE" button and "USR" LED that can be used in scripting?

This button and LED features give whole new dimension in usage of RB devices.
It would be nice to have few models with more than one button/led in the future.

Thank you in advance and kind regards.

Is cAP ac considered SOHO device? It has mode button when used with circle enclosure (the square one covers it with solid plastic so it is not push-able).
hEX S also has mode button, but it doesn't have wifi.

Out of curiosity: What is your use case for multiple mode buttons?

You can make the devices act on multiple mode button presses. Have a looks at mode-button-event and mode-button-scheduler. For these to function you need other scripts from routeros-scripts.

Thanks for your replies.

These links are such a great resource - thank you very much.

With multiple buttons you could have even more scripting options. Eworm has given us some very nice scripts which can be triggered with one or more MODE button presses, but with multiple buttons you can have even more trigers and options.

Just to name few general use cases:
  • Reconfigure your network (pppoe, routing, firewall etc.). For example, it can be faster to press a button in the case of a security or malware event to isolate part of the network - and everyone can do it.
  • Turn on/off various networked devices and servers (especially if they are virtual).
  • Toggle guest or main wifi access on or off.
  • Perform simple home/office automation tasks (like turn on video surveilance etc.).

I was expecting for someone from MikroTik to point us which devices are upgraded with MODE button and USR LED recently.
I'm particulary interested in hAP series devices that are in the market right now that have both of this features.
