HI, i have question about Mikrotik mUPS. Can i power it from POE switch and charge backup battery ? When i give power from POE Switch 48V, will be from POE-output 24V ?

Specifications declare PoE in input Voltage range 12-28V ... so powering it with 48V is out of question. Chances are that it's actually a passive PoE unit meaning it's not 802.3af (standard PoE) compatible ...

What kind of "poe convertor" do you have in mind? mUPS specs state that mUPS comes with a Gb PoE injector as standard accessory, which I assume is intended to provide power to mUPS via ethernet. RB devices, that have PoE in, usually don't make any distinction of particular power supply port ... so I would expect mUPS will charge connected battery regardless if used PoE or power jack.

There are rumours that Ubiquiti non-802.3af PoE is compatible with Mikrotik's own implementation, so the quoted device might do the job. However, 24V, 0.5A is "only" 12W and even if your RB device, powered by mUPS, has lower rated power consumption, it will take ages to recharge battery after power outage. PSU shiped with mUPS is rated almost 3x higher.

I'm an electrical engineer specialized in UPS systems. Does it disappoint mUPS users that the device doesn't feature any remote monitoring services for the battery? Wouldn't it be great to be able to know in advance if a battery is critically low or needs to be replaced?
