LHG 60G rev 2?

Sat Mar 23, 2019 10:53 am

Hello.
There are new r2 versions LHG60 on the market.
Do they have less output power? It does not connect to 1000 meters
It looks like they have 5Ghz radio output

The PCB print says LHG 60Gx8 ... and there's already a topic about it.

Obviously there are different variants of it: this one has 5GHz radio chip mounted, while tghe other one in linked topic features 3 antenna arrays for wider coverage angle ...

Yes but the 5 ghz radio chip without antenna or with 1 antenna connector is a problem, the pcb seems to have only 1 maybe the another one is on the other side.

We need more info and photo :-)

This topic is NOT about this. Your link is about wAP 60Gx3 (180 degree sector) and there is no 5Ghz radio on PCP.
But LHG60G r2 have ch0 on pcb and shielding plate. In winbox not. Maybe in future.

More info from @Mikrotik? What is difference? Less output power due to certification?

If this come true and this „update“ has less power allowed, we need to order 100 old sets for stock

A question the TX power is managed by the board or by the antenna?

Do you think that a bare wire/piece of pcb can manage anything?

Hello.
There are new r2 versions LHG60 on the market.
the image of "old design" is actually a bit different for the LHG60. the LEDs are on the side populated, and there's no DC barrel jack on the PCB. see images from an actual LHG60 i took apart.
with regards to the internals (the block diagram on routerboard.com confirms it) the old LHG60/wap60G is built around the QCA6320 baseband. the new stuff (wap60Gx3) bases on the QCA6335 baseband. the RF stage and the phased antenna array are the same in all cases (QCA6310), but the beamforming pattern is wildly different for the wap and the lhg units.
