CCR1036-12G Right Hardware for many Users?

Sat Jun 08, 2019 8:54 am

Hi! I have a CCR1036-12G-4S. In one Port I have a trunk port with around 10 VLAN`s. One VLAN is for our guest access. This VLAN is connected by a bridge to another port. With that port our guest gateway is connected.

Normaly, everything works fine. But if we get more clients in our guestnetwork, everythinks becomes very slow. We have around 400 till 600 different clients useing the network at same time. Over the port flows only around 50 to 60 MBit/s. Up to 10.000 TCP/IP connections at same time. Now i am looking for the issue, but i dont really find it.

I read, that connecting a VLAN from a trunk port to another port by bridge could be very slow, if you dont use a "real" switch.

Does the CCR1036-12G-4S (v6.43.14) have enough ressources to manage the traffic over the bridge? The ressource monitor shows only around 1% CPU load and many free memory...

Thank you very much!!

More important that how many users support, is how many is the total throughput (bandwidth and pps) that support.
