While using the S+85DLC03D SFP Modules, we observed some cases of connections, where we have/had an unexpected high package loss, between 30 and 60%.
The problem appears relative frequently. ...
.. unfortunately, we could not narrow down the problem either to a specific type of connection-configuration neither to a faulty device.
Apparently, plugging in a certain setup and hitting the problem, then disconnecting and plugging in the same setup again and the problem is gone. But then disconnecting and reconnecting might bring up the problem again. ... really strange. However, that makes the connection relative unreliable, especially when in mobile use, as the connections have to be verified every time. ...
While investigating, we tried connecting several devices and configurations CSS106-1G-4P-1S or CRS112-8P-4S-IN, 250m OM3 cable or 1m OM3 patch cables .. and the problem appears randomly.
We observed that problem only when using at least one S+85DLC03D module involved. I suspect some hardware problem, maybe the optical connection does not fit 100%? ...
If the connection-setup is problematic, it appears usually instantly, which means that pinging with 30 packages shows if the problem appears. ...
As this is all new gear I don't think that this is caused by dust or dirt, ...
I would be glad if someone could give me a hint on what to check next to pinpoint the problem. I'm out of ideas on what to look at, or how to narrow down the problem. ....
