Is possible to conver onboard serial port to alarm input and have email notification? I'd like to have alarm supervision for door open, water flood, fire alarm,AC power outage,Low battery etc on my remote cabinets.
I'm running a wisp service but without luck on remote supervision of my cabinets problems/alarms

This port cannot be used for alarm inputs!

Does anyone knows a box that can do the job?

The Serial Console and Terminal are tools, used to communicate with devices and other systems
that are interconnected via serial port. The serial terminal may be used to monitor and configure many devices - including modems, network devices (including MikroTik routers), and any device
that can be connected to a serial (asynchronous) port.

You just need a simple microcontroller that converts input levels (switch closed/open) to text and sends it over serial port to the RB.
Cheap Arduino board will work, with very simple sketch, nothing complicated (wait for command, output pin states).
ROS then can be scripted to talk with this device over serial port, then react based on command result, send email, HTTP request,...
Just make sure to use TTL to RS232 level converter between RB and Arduino board, because serial output from RB is using full RS232 levels.

Use any esp controller. D1 mini is probably the cheapest, combined with PIR sensor and magnetic switch for the door will cost less than $10.
