LTAP

Sun Dec 08, 2019 1:13 am

Any chance that LtAP will be with external connector for 3,4,5G antenna in the further?
I have many queries on this for boats and especially armored vehicles.

Cheers
Jimmy

Hi Zacharias
Like my post i am looking for LTAP with external connections.
The mant lte will not work for boats or vehicles.

Where do you see external connections on wap lte?

Again I need LtAP ?

Where do you see external connections on wap lte?
Did you even read the Brochure of the Product? No...
If you use the connectors provided in the link above then the external antenna is mounted right next to the dc jack and not in the PCB...
So the connectors are basically extended to the outer part of the PCB...

You can use LtAP with external connectors for either WiFI or LTE depending on what you installed in device. As you can see LtAP has cutouts for up to 3 SMA connectors (3rd one is on the opposite side of front panel, next to power jack). I for example use LtAP with high power wifi 2.4 in car with external antennas for long range wifi connection (used to dump high volumes of data collected while driving to base station)

Hi lapiso
That that rely look cool, and ya it is there so I gonna order for install.
It will be nice if this was made in the unit so you both internal and switch for external but this will do the work.
Thx for the post all.

The only think that differs from what i showed you is the model, which ofcorse exists in the miktotik product page...
You will still need the internal connectors...you will still need an external antenna... no difference...
Why do you seek for products in the forum instead of the Mikrotik products page ?
Also i really try to understand why you like those huge antennas krafg uses, that cost by the way almost twice the price of LTAP.. The mant LTE is much more nice... whatever...

I think it wasn't clear from brochure / photos whether LtAP has actual cutouts for external SMA. Especially if someone never used such cutouts it may not be obvious that those circles are supposed to be removed and used as mount points for SMA pigtails. At first I also didn't know that, I thought it's just for ventilation purposes xD

For automotive use cases LtAP is vastly superior starting from easy power delivery using 12V automotive tail, having RS232 and GPS as well as multi-SIM.

It is described in the quick guide of the product. MMCX connectors for external antennas...
RS232 and GPS as well as multi-SIM.
Never mentioned as requirements in the first post...
