Update on CRS354 Switches? (moved post)

Tue Dec 17, 2019 3:58 pm

Hi!

I can't tell you how much we're looking forward to the CRS354 switches, but it's a lot!

They were announced April 2018, and I think I've found several places that the target was Spring 2019.

I/we want to throw money at these! Please let us!

Seriously, though, is there anything Mikrotik can share to provide an updated expectation?

Thank you!

Really. They promised at the end of the year. The end of the year is tomorrow. Where is the CRS354?

I am also looking to buy a couple of these and was hoping to hear some news soon. I think I'll give it another couple of weeks. I'm going to need to do something before too long though. Our existing 48 port switches just have 1G uplinks and it's not ideal at all. We've got a couple of servers with 10g ports now and there's just not enough ports on our smaller switches with 10g uplinks to eliminate bottlenecks everywhere we need to.

I know I've been holding out for these too, CRS328's are great but 24+4 port switches start adding up to a lot of wasted rack space and increased management quick.

Google for them, it looks like they are available for order from distributors.

Are you referring to the CRS354? I haven't found them. Care to give us a hint where they are available at?

Miro, a South African distributor for Mikrotik has this PDF on their website:

https://www.miro.co.za/wp-content/uploa ... 4S2QRM.pdf

No pricing yet, though, and it turns out this isn't PoE anymore. Original announcement was for a 48P, this is a 48G.

48P maybe coming later, then.

Awesome, now all we need is stacking on the 40G ports. MikroTik was working on it when I talked to them in Vienna last year at MUM Europe. I hope we see that as a feature this year. It would be nice to be able to build LACP channels across multiple switches.

poe variant ???

This is a short depth model, very useful. PoE would be larger and needed too for IP Camera rollouts.

Hi Normis,

Is there any real chance that Mikrotik is really planning to update the RouterOS / SwitchOS software this year, which will allow CRS354 to be stacked and thus set up a redundant HA setup?

We would like to remain loyal to Mikrotik in our datacenters, but HW failures last year and big production outages, forces us to look for HA solutions compatible with VMware ESXi with 2x NIC, but Mikrotik switches have no solution yet.

Buying CRS354 with stacking and HA setup options is our only hope of remain loyal to Mikrotik.

Thank you for your response.
