It looks like it is Qualcomm based.

Too hard to tell if it's a new SoC, or just a revision of the ac2 with LTE.

There is only one SoC on the board, with a RAM chip and a switch chip, without any other wireless chipset, it should be IPQ4019

Product code of Chateau LTE12 is RBD53G-5HacD2HnD-TC&EG12-EA, this one look like a Chateau without integrated LTE modem, tower case, but
has minipcie slot in it, Maybe you can use hap ac2 and an old mobile phone to create you own RBD53GR-5HacD2HnD.

Add SFP, and people will ask to bond the 2 connections.

Interesting design and looks great. Disappointed to see only CAT6 modem. Perhaps there will be a SKU without modem, so folks can install EC25-AF or something better. Looks like it has push-out/cut-out holes for external antenna.

Doesn't make much difference witch LTE standard it has. Using LTE as home broadband is hideously expensive.

I wouldn't say that! In Albania you can get an PON connection with 50Mbps/20Mbps (down/up) for about 15 EUR/month. But there is another that I have a LTE Sim Card with unlimited monthly traffic for just 12 EUR/month. Looks fair, at least for small businesses to use that LTE as an Backup Line!

You'd be disappointed with a CAT6 modem but you'd be happy to install a CAT4 modem like the EC25-AF?

The reason I am disappointed with CAT6 only modem in this new router is because Chateau already has CAT12 modem.
But based on available bands in my hood, EC25-AF will work better than LTE6 or LTE12 modem.

No, MikroTik announces products to distributors first, so they know what we have planned and can prepare their marketing strategy.
Some shops just can't wait for anything and publish straight away.

This device looks quite redundant when it coexists with Chateau LTE12.

What's the difference between those two apart from pci-e slot and lte 6 vs lte 12?... It doesn't seem like difference significant enough to launch new device. Even price difference insignificant 220 vs 230 usd...

Chateau is just ghost device with ghost stable Ros7.0 and LTE external connectors.... produced and dedicate at start for ISP (not for end-user directly). I hope that use M.2 instead of mPCIe but I not see FCC or other confirmation :(. Technical speaking it's better then hAP ac³ who exist and be buy now!.

If only R11e-LTE6 can aggregate B3+B1 then this will be so much better module...
