10 GIG version of HEX

Hi!

We have 100s of HEXs at customer sites in our network and we basically use them as managed ethernet converters so customer traffic is just bridged to reach larger routers at central sites.

On top of that we can monitor them and see that the customers are up.

Please make something similar with a couple of 10G ports we can switch (1-2 is enough) and SFP+ - It would be awesome if this could be switched in hardware.

/M

I agree with andriys. CRS305-1G-4S+IN is almost perfect as a 10G CPE.

But I think only up to 500/50 WAN and some people need more Ethernet ports.

Most also need WiFi.

And it only has 16MB of storage.

But it seems to fit this application.

@vortex

PLEASE STOP sharing your thoughts what people need or what you think people dream of.

The OP asked a question about simple device with small amount of fast ports to use them as converters. Nothing more.

I was responding to the comment that the CRS305 is an almost perfect 10G CPE without qualification.

I think Mikrotik still has not matched the general purpose appeal of the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN (which already seemed imperfect because of Fast Ethernet and lack of 5 GHz).

Please DO STOP.

CRS305 IS an ALMOST perfect fit for OP needs ... so once more PLEASE DO STOP throwing your comments about "a must have device" for all.

I did not dispute that it seems perfect for the OP, I dispute its role as a single 10G solution for ISPs.
