MikroTik DC power 10Gb switch with lots of ports?

Fri Aug 07, 2020 6:36 am

Does MikroTik have the CRS312-4C+8XG-RM in dual DC power version just like CRS305-1G-4S+IN?
Our system runs on batteries so DC is a must (any voltage up to 48v)
If not, any other 10Gb switch with at least 6 ports at 10Gb and at least 12 total that has DC power?
And finally, if not, anyone knows what comes out of the power supply internally in the CRS312-4C+8XG-RM ? It is a single DC voltage so I could lose the warranty and bypass the power supply?

How about CRS309-1G-8S+IN? Or you need is 10GBase-T ?

He needs (more than) 12 ports total.

Thanks both.
Yes I need 12 ports at least, and yes it has to be RJ45 ethernet 10Gb.
My dream specs would be:
- 1U rack
- Redundant DC power input
- All Ethernet RJ45
- 12x 10Gb
- 12x 1Gb

I found some photos of the CRS312-4C+8XG-RM here: https://www.servethehome.com/mikrotik-c ... ch-review/
And this photo shows the rack open: https://www.servethehome.com/wp-content ... m-Rear.jpg
We can see yellow and black cables. Does it mean it takes a dual 12v? Are both yellow and both black cables the same thing in a connector for the redundancy of the connector itself?
If so I could simply get one of these and get rid of the 2 power supplies, connect the 2 yellow and 2 black wires together and I get 2 DC inputs. Would that work?

Bonus question now that I think about it:
Can I connect a 1Gb switch that has one 10Gb port directly to this switch and expect everything to work at full speed just like that? (provided that the 1Gb ports sum up to less than 10Gb)

I cannot see on the picture if it uses 12V or higher, but yes - that should work. You could probably feed it 12-32V as most other Mikrotiks, but that is not specified so either Mikrotik have to confirm it, or you should match the voltage of the internal AC-DC supplies exactly to be sure.

Yes, it should work to bypass the internal powersupplies, they often supply 12 or 24 volts.
