Question regarding Hex PoE (RB960PGS)

Fri Nov 06, 2020 1:06 am

Good afternoon:

I just purchased and Hex PoE (RB960PGS) and I want to power up an Tp-Link Omada eap-225, that works with either 24v passive or af poe, since I'm using the stock Power Supply in the router it ought to provide 24v, 1000ma per port. But when I plug it in one of the live ports nothing happen, the same is true is I use another powered port. i'm not familair with this model, ¿do I have to actively do something to active the PoE? Or it might be a faulty device.

Any recomendation would be greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Omar

Hello,
Please write an e-mail to support@mikrotik.com or create a request via https://help.mikrotik.com/servicedesk and attach a supout.rif file from this device (before creating a supout.rif file, attach the mentioned PD).
Provide PoE details of PD.

TP-link is probably using different pairs when in Passive-PoE mode.

--Solved--

Each interface has three power modes, by defaul is set to auto, for some reason TP-Link devices don't activate teh detection.

I had to set it to "forced-on mode" now is working properly.

Thank you all, cheers.
