Any suggestions?

Fri Jul 20, 2007 4:36 pm

I have a client that is about two miles from AP and has some tree cover in between client and AP. I am using a seneo 8602+ and a 10 db omni for broadcast. The client has a rb133 and r52. I am locked on to the broadcast with a -90 signal. We are the only high speed internet provider in her area. Problem is she is only getting about 500k downlaod and 128k up. Should I change the r52 for a seneo 8602+? Surely this would give the client better signal quality right? I forgot to mention tha client is on a Pac Wireless RooTenna about 19 db.

Certainly try the Senao 8602, but my experience is trees are bad news. For the most part I avoid trees as you usually get poor results.

Trying switching to a 24db grid and to a Ubiquity XR2. Raise the antenna up as high as possible. Hopefully, that will get you a 10+ db gain and a salvaged client.
