Problem: S+RJ10 temperature trigger fans on CRS317

Thu Mar 04, 2021 6:21 pm

Dear Mikrotik-lovers,

I am using a CRS317r2 with ROS 4.68.1.
The effect is that if I use S+RJ10r2 in them, I do see the temperature via DDM monitoring which leads to the problem that the fans run all of the time at 8000 rpm.

The temperature at /system health gauges is always the highest of all installed SFPs:
 # NAME VALUE TYPE
 0 temperature 71 C
 1 cpu-temperature 35 C
 2 fan1-speed 7980 RPM
 3 fan2-speed 7920 RPM
 4 psu1-state ok
 5 psu2-state ok

Which triggers the fans but they are not able to bring down the temperatures of the SFPs, even that I have glued heat sinks on them.

So far I replaced the S+RJ10r2 by S+RJ10r1 and QSFPTEK ones which do not provide temperature readings. So the fans stay of.

Question: Is there a best practice to use S+RJ10r2 and keep the fans slow?
