Is the hEX reset button always expected to work?

Fri Mar 05, 2021 9:46 pm

Hello,

I just got my hEX and pretty quickly got into trouble.

I pressed and held the reset button to start over. From the documentation you're supposed to press and hold until "LED light" (didn't specify which one, I would assume PWR) starts flashing.

https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Reset+Button

I pressed it with a paper clip, felt it click, but held it for more than a minute. No LED flashed and it did not reset. Thankfully I was able to get back into WebFig.

Should it have?

Do I have a non-functional reset button?

Thank you.

Thank you for your response. So this button does nothing when the device is running? The link indicates when it's held down while powering up, it loads the backup RouterBOOT loader after 3 seconds.

To reset configuration, when powering up, do I hold it until the LED flashes but not for 3 seconds or longer?
