Replacing the NAND in a RB1100

Tue Mar 30, 2021 9:25 am

Hi all!

I totaled the NAND in my RB1100AHx4. It's my fault, I enabled Dude (not a Dude edition) fiddle with it a bit then forgot about it. After a week, the NAND became unwritable, so now the router "forgets" whatever I try to set.
I understand that it's not something covered by warranty, but I would like to fix it somehow, as I don't want to throw away the router.
So what could be the solution? If I find someone who could replace the faulty chip, that's fine, but how can I "reinstall" routerOS on it? Is Netinstall a solution for this?

Or anyone has a better suggestion?
Thank you,
Lenry

License is "baked" to NAND in a way netinstall doesn't touch it. Which also means you can't transfer the license to new NAND just like that. I suggest you to contact support@mikrotik.com and ask them about your options.
