LtAP LTE6 U.fl/ipx to sma female Cable

Fri May 14, 2021 12:56 pm

Hello,

Please I am thinking of purchasing a U.fl/ipx to sma cable for my mikrotik LtAP LTE6 use external LTE antenna.the cable length is 5cm and I will like to know if the length is enough?

Please can I connect it to the main modem shipping with the LtAP LTE6 or I will have to connect it to the second modem installed into the 2nd pcie expansion slot?

What is the maximum antenna gain I can use since mikrotik only has 5dbi LTE antenna?

I used 4x 15cm (I not recommend less) U.FL to RP-SMA pigtails, and the connectors are in the top side (check my signature).

I used RP-SMA instead SMA because is much more common this connector.

As you could see, I used TP-Link pigtails to get connection until the antenna.

LtAP kit only comes with one LTE module installed, the second is not installed and it is optional.

About antenna gain, you can use that you can find and buy on an external antenna. If I'm right, the 5dbi antenna is the gain of the internal antenna. LtAP comes with an internal antenna for only one LTE module.

In my case I use external antennas only of L-COM.

Regards.
