MikroTik RBGPOE - usable as PoE splitter?

Fri Oct 22, 2021 7:11 pm

Is it possible to use two RGBPOE to inject and extract power from cabling like this:
(inject power via 5.5x2.1mm plug) RGBPOE <---> RGBPOE (extract power via 5.5x2.1mm male-to-male adapter)

Soo i used it in the past as a PoE-Splitter, and it worked !
Tried it again today... still works =)

** I don't know why mikrotik doesn't advertise it as a Splitter!
Maybe it is missing some voltage protection circuit or something...

Yes, it will work perfectly fine. It's just a passive device and 100% bi-directional. Injector and splitter for passive POE is exactly the same inside, only difference is in the connectors...
