RB112 w SR9

Sat Sep 15, 2007 11:30 pm

As some of my other posts mention I am trying out 900mhz SR9s for my business expansion. I have had a really hard time with them. The latest is a really hard time logging in via winbox to the 112 CPE installed in my truck. It has multiple unable to communicate and router disconnected errors. My question is, I am running it on 12vdc. Should I be providing higher voltage to this setup? considering the SR9 card, am I providing enough juice?

What are the noise floor readings in your area .... ?

More than likely your power supply is suffecient enough for the 112 and sr9 ... what most fail to realize is that the 900mhz band is completely differet from other UNI/ISM bands in that there is usually a ton of noise at any given time. Most of this noise is found in the vertical polirization. Remember, you have cell carriers that use 900mhz in their technology.. (ever wonder how that signal seems to get everywhere :) ) but my suggestion is to change the polarity of both your transmitting and receiving antennae and you will be much happier, a channel filter to would be nice.

noise floor is consistently under -100. I'll try changing polarity.

12V power source for RB112 is very close to lower voltage limit and RB can be rebooting with high consumer load.Use 18V or higher power source for RB stable work!
