RB 532 fixed Frequence issue?

Tue Nov 27, 2007 10:02 am

Hi Forum,
i have the following configuration:
1x RB 532
2x R52 Mini PCI (1x AP, 1x client)
1x H&S 23 dBi antenna
1x H&S 19 dBi antenna
routerOS 2.9.49 (5GHz regulation Domain Germany - DFS an)

Following issue:
scanning on the client interface for reachable networks discovers all networks on frequency of 5180 MHz - regardless which frequence is setup on the other side. connecting to a wlan is not possible.

Activating the other interface as AP on e.g. 5700MHz - the client interface also "sees" it on 5180 MHz.
Also another Routerboard a few 100 meters away "sees" this AP on 5180 and not on the setup 5700 MHz.
Also for this: connecting is not possible.

Is this a hardware problem or a known rouiterOS issue which can be fixed easily?

anybody any idea?

Regards
Heiko

May be a configuration error. Do you use dfs without a scan list?
5180 is then the first frequency to use. And as it's a low power
frequency it gives real bad connections.

Thanks for the hint.
Does dfs override the set up primery frequency ?

Yes. A single setup frequency does not make sense for dfs.
To see the real used frequency with dfs you've to use
terminal: interface-wireless-wlanX-monitor-once. winbox always
shows the setup frequence.

So if you want to use the full german outdoor frequencies you have
to enter them all to the scanlist.
