Which homemade test antenna?

Mon Dec 17, 2007 11:25 am

Hi, I would make an "homemade" antenna for using the routerboards in a room for connection tests.
I have professional antennas, but tey are a bit difficult to use in a laboratory.
I found this link:
http://flakey.info/antenna/omni/quarter/

Could it work or I will damage the R52 radios?
Thanks.

I have stuck a piece of cat5 conductor (a couple inches long, depending on the frequency) into the end of an N jack. Strip off about 1/2", fold that stripped part in half, and it has the perfect tension for staying in the center socket of the N Jack. Works fine indoors and doesn't have too much gain.
