Fri Mar 28, 2008 2:13 pm

Please try this new BIOS. It can be installed with Xmodem transfer protocol from your terminal program (hyperterminal):

Any way to do it remotely? it's easy to add on the new boards... a little bit harder on the ones already installed :o

just put file to root on your RB and do:

/system routerboard print (upgrade firmware: 2.13)
/system routerboard upgrade
/system reboot

Normis: thanks, we will test it.

Normis, We upgraded both OS and firmware. We are applying RB600 mainly outdoor. We noticed that polling and "disable CSMA" are both disabled. Only Nstreme is enabled "on wds-bridge side". When we are using bridge mode it is appearing again!!
We are using R52. can you chek it!!

no, this problem is entirely related to the RB600, your problem must be different. contact support for help. this BIOS file is only for Rb600

I succesfully upgraded the firmware to v 2.13 and the random reboots totally disapear.
But now I have two minor issues. In winbox appears to be disabled enable polling and disable CSMA also framer policy and framer limit too, this is only on winbox, in the console everything is ok. The other issue is that the ether1 reports inconsistents traffic values.

iterlink,
this is specially made so, because you don't need to change those values if the wireless interface is in the station mode. Those seetings are only needed for the AP interface as the AP interface will tell it's clients what nstreme settings to use.

So, that is what I was saying before...OK.
But kindly include the new bios upgrade into 3.7 package because we have already have cutomers running on RB600 on outdoor units which hardly to do xmodem on them.
If so, when this can be done?

Hi guys and thanks to Normis....

Like k3dt said... Load the file to the root

/system upgrade
/system reboot

We did this remotely to ALL our RB600's (we were not having any problems but upgraded anyway) and it worked a treat..!!!

As an aside - I doubt whether new fixes would be issued which could not be installed across the network...???? Pretty pointless if you "might" have to travel 1000 kms to a BSS... so again.. thanks for the upgrade..

Regards

Now up for 34 min and still working

Setup is

RB600 with 4 WMR-400 Card in it.
3 card in 5.8Ghz mode Ap-bridge and
1 card in 2.4Ghz Mode Station.

Power Supply 20V 3A In Power jack

routerboard: yes
model: "600"
serial-number: "160201xxxxx"
current-firmware: "2.14"
upgrade-firmware: "2.14"

uptime: 19m54s
version: "3.4"
free-memory: 49656kB
total-memory: 62416kB
cpu: "e300c1"
cpu-count: 1
cpu-frequency: 399MHz

total-hdd-space: 61440kB
write-sect-since-reboot: 162

We have same behaviour and same error message in "log print" with an RB532A running RouterOS 3.7.

The system reboots every 10 minutes.

"reboot" is not something that's unique to a specific product :) for all i know - it could be power outages :)

ANI is adaptative-noise-immunity

visible with "interface wireless print advanced"

to normis : things went better with ANI disabled. If you read my first message i say that the "log print" message is the same as on the rb600, dealing with watchdog.

Even if we can't exclude a power outage we can't neither exclude à ROS or board problem ;)

still investigating yet

Just putting in my 2c....

Had an RB600 with 2x R52H cards with 48v PoE that was rebooting more or less every 10 mins since we installed it a few days ago.

Upgraded the firmware to the latest version (2.14) and it's been up for 44 mins so far.

you need 2.14! just upload the firmware file to FILES menu, then run command "/system routerboard upgrade"

Make sure it's at the root, not in a subdirectory (like in /hotspot for example)

Not sure if it makes any difference, but better safe.

Yes, it is in the root.
it accepts firmware 2.13, but when i upload and start 2.14 there is the message that file was not found. Is any serious difference between 2.13 and 2.14?

I noticed that reboot bug occures while traffic is at maximum on wireless adapter.
therefore, i'm copying all the time since 2.13 is installed (30 mins) and seems ok so far.

I just tried binary mode. It dosn't work. Same error occures again.
1. uploading firmware into root (files)
2. starting console (telnet)
3. running command "/system routerboard upgrade"
and system says: ERROR: firmware file was not found.
More confusing to me is that RB600 accepted firmware 2.13, but not the 2.14
How it could be?
However there was no problems running 2.13. not one single reboot since upgrade.
Regards.

Same issue with my 600s. 2.14 in root files folder. Tried CLI and Winbox, and same result. 2.13 upgrade successful from CLI. 2.14 wont upgrade. But, board hasnt booted way past where it would have, with 2.13 seeming to fix problem....We will see...

All of you guys having problems with 2.14 firmware are probably trying to use the firmware link that was posted above.. That link was in response to someone asking if it worked with a RB333 and thus was a link to the RB333 firmware.. Anyway..

This is the link for the RB600 firmware..

My RB600 still rebooting with routeros 3.10 and 2.15 firmware.
+ I have nothing in wachdog!
+ ANI = ap and client mode !

When I start a bandwidth test, in 2-3 minutes will reboot automaticly.
How can I prove this and change in warranty?
