RB 1000U 12V? or 24v?

Tue Jun 03, 2008 5:45 pm

Hi all,
Just got my first RB 1000u. nice packed unit.
But it's doesn't fired up?
WHen i checked it has a 12v-3A adaptor in it, measured it was correct.

and did not turn on.

then i switch to 24v 3A adaptor, it works.

Is RB 1000u meant to use 12 v or 24v?

It stated 12v on the website..... :-?

Any comment please.

Thx!

Hi

We got our RB1000 the other day, and could'nt power it up. We analyze the issue to be wrong power connected. So we + is going to - we change it and the unit powered up straight away. So it seems that some body from Mikrotik has readed the power settings the wrong way. Take the plug out and turn it 180 degrees and plug it in, then it should be good.

You have proberbly plugged your 24V correct into the unit, but it is not recommended to use more than 12V as there are no protection against over voltage.

Hope this can help other users receiving this unit. By the way it seems to perform very good and for sure RB1000 will be a success.

probably easier to unclip the battery - swing your battery around 180 degrees and re-clip....!!!!
:D
