Omitting packages

Wed Dec 24, 2008 4:24 am

Ok Just tryed to downgrade to 3.13 from 3.14 and says Omitting package newer version 3.14 is already installed. What in the hell is that??????? We cant downgrade. The hole reason im downgrading is because CPU usage on 3.14 is 10 percent or more all the time where on my other routerboard it is like 2 percent all the time and that routerboard does more work. But thats a side track why is it omitting my downgrade?????? This really sucks. What next propertary software? Sorry just frustrated a lil. So whats up with this?

You did not explain what you did to reach that error message or how you got that error message(pop up or log)?

Try uploading your "downgrade" and issuing
/system package downgrade
You may also find this handy.

That only works for upgrade, not downgrade.

Er, No, we're saying to use the "downgrade" button in the packages dialogue, or its command line equivalent. There is all kinds of discussion about how to do this, a cursory search of the forum will find it.

Also, you would do much better with an upgrade to 3.16 or 3.17 as the processor utilization drops a bunch. Also lots of bug fixes.

Works particularly well for 100 series RBs that don't like 3.x at all otherwise.

please read the answers one more time, maybe then you will see what is suggested:
/system package downgrade
not allowed to downgrade anymore?
You could NEVER downgrade with a simple reboot

yea I used Downgrade and that worked, Not sure what I was thinking but When it said ommitting package you already have 3.14 It seemed like it wouldn't allow an older version on the system.
