133 - 3.22 upgraded to 4.2, Now want to downgrade

Sat Nov 07, 2009 6:43 pm

After severe problems with 4.2 on clients and AP's with extremely basic configuration that has worked perfect for a year and a half, I have to go back to 3.22 or 3.30. I did the 4.2 update as explained keeping both the new and the old license key on my 133's, and some 411's. 400 series boards will return perfectly to 3.30. I just did a whole bunch of them. Now, 133's is a different story.

I have the license key stored locally and on board the 133. But, no matter if I copy the text of the key and use the paste button on the license area, or if I use import, it comes back with "invalid key".

Yes, I could tell it to downgrade the four packages, but I'm afraid that procedure would lock me out of my CPE's. So what is the correct license downgrade procedure on doing older boards?

Here is how I upgraded my whole network from 3.22 to 4.2
1. 100 series boards were taken up to 3.30
2. Then after reboot I would update the license key, worked perfect.
3. Then I would upload the four packages for 4.2 that I needed, followed by a reboot.

400 series boards
1. Copied four package files to board,
2. Rebooted
3. Upon request, told board to upgrade license. Worked perfect.

Now I just have to get rid of 4.2. Three days of terrible results and wide spread outages. How can I downgrade?
