Burned ethernet ports

Thu Jun 17, 2010 1:32 pm

Hi

I our wireless network we have plenty of RouterBoards. Everything runs fine, but sometimes some ethernet ports burns. Mostly the POE ones. i can fix this by solding a couple of wires to board to make POE on different port, but I'm wondering if there is any way of fixing port?

Does anybody know which part goes wrong mostly on burned port? Or is it connector itself?

In Our network there are mostly 333 433 and few 133

Thanx!

For 333 it's KZS8041, for 433 - IP175C and for 133 - ADM5120 repairing is not resonable. Use good grounding and shielded cables and you don't meet this problems.

Thanx a lot!

I try to change all UTPs for STPs. Ground should be problem cause most of them are placed on roofs in water resist boxes and powered over POE.
