RB750 big problem :(:(:(

Thu Dec 02, 2010 7:41 pm

Today I did the upgrade with 4:11 to 5.04rc. After the upgrade and the basic configuration, the device was working slow and totally wrong, and CPU often went to 100% occupancy. 5.04rc installed with the device is booted for a long time, and I decided to go back to 4.11. I have upload 4.11. NPK packages at RB, and click the Downgrade button. The device is rebooted, and I waited about 2 minutes. my cable was connected to the ethernet 5th The device no longer detected over winbox, nor have I got IP from DHCP. attempt to reset the default settings did not pass: (: ((I pressed the reset button and turned on the RB, and waited one minute). RB lights up, a couple of times ACT LED blinking, and then only the PWR LED lights, and no other. no install via netinstall is not drinking water. Now, when you try to reset to default, just just pwr led lights, and nothing happens: (what to do with this miracle? anything we do not fall by heart: (

thanks for any help.

Try using Netinstall with serial null modem cable. Usually it works fine.

Hi,

Try with NetInstall via Ethernet port acording to Quick Setup Guide
http://routerboard.com/pricelist/downlo ... ile_id=191
Based on my experience RB750 sometimes need 5 or more minutes to upgrade/downgrade.
So next time you should be more patient...

Regards, Grzegorz.

Ooops! Didn't notice model number; Sorry!

Anyway, try the alternative pxe booting method using ethernet. Connect router and your computer with ethernet cable. Before doing anything, configure netinstall (net booting - boot server) with an IP of your computer's subnet. Then exit netinstall, press and hold reset button while turning on the router. After a few seconds release the reset button and run netinstall. Hopefully it will detect your router and you'll be able to reflash it.

I hope it helps!

ACT will blink when you hold the button while booting. When ACT LED stops blinking, release button and Netinstall server will load.

simple dont' working normis. when i do that, as u say, first ACT blink a couple of times, then i release reset button, and then on RB750 all leds start lighting (ACT, PWR and all ETHERNET), and don't stop. they not blinking, just lighting, all time, and on my switch eth port indicator not blinking and not lighting, it's turned off..... i think that's not good sign :(
