Everyone knows that Mikrotik supports 1.5GB ram...since a long time ago.Memory SODIMM DDR Slot, 2GB installed (supports up to 1.5GB) What????
In limited production now. We booked an order. MT is supposed to get some in next week. Should find out on Monday how many they will ship to us.Sweet!! Any idea on when it will be available?
Actually they support 2GB of RAM. I think they are memory mapping out 512K of that space for other devices in their RB1000 and RB1100 designs. It probably keeps the costs down.guys, is only the AH version of a routerboard, that means just more ram and a faster cpu; not a quad core cpu and sfp etc.

is copy/paste from changelog...nothing is reduced. RouterOS always has had RAM maximum 1.5Gb.
you can install any size, only 1.5GB will be used.So does the RB1100 have 2 RAM slots then? To my knowledge, there are no 1.5 GB sticks.
1500MHz seems stable so far.1066Mhz is the base speed? What other speeds will be supported and stable?
What is the maximum for that CPU?1500MHz seems stable so far.1066Mhz is the base speed? What other speeds will be supported and stable?
1500. We try not to ship products with settings that can damage them, or are not recommended. What is the maximum for that CPU?1500MHz seems stable so far.1066Mhz is the base speed? What other speeds will be supported and stable?
interesing, will check. maybe copy/paste errorThank for your answer Normis. And what TKITFrank post?
I prefer RB1000 (and new 1100AH). for being a dedicated hardware and integrated. reduce possible problems such irqs for exemplewould it be faster than my x86 Intel Pentium 4 2Ghz RouterOS?
Then I have found a bug in ROS version 5.2. From system resources...nothing is reduced. RouterOS always has had RAM maximum 1.5Gb.
I think they have problems with the production or with the board. Two of my regular suppliers had had them in their sales list for months, both marked as ´coming soon´. One of these suppliers took it out of their webshop now, the other one still shows "not available yet". This is for at least 5 months now..... And now MT themselves removed it from their http://www.routerboard.com page? (It has been there for sure...)

Hi! The "new" product will be named RB1100AH as the older? or the "new" it's the RB1100AHx2 ?we had a problem with part supplier, that's why we made a "new and improved" RB1100AH and RB1100AHx2, which will be coming this autumn.
there are two products coming in October, RB1100AH and RB1100AHx2, both of them are new designs.Hi! Autum starts on 10 days. Do you have some information about the aproximated coming date (earlier autumn or later autumn) ?
My distributor doesn't have any information related with the part problem of RB1100AH or the newer product RB1100AHx2.
Regards.
yeah right, and Apple allows you to swap iPhone 3G for iPhone 4 just like that.So what happens to people who already have RB1100AH from the limited stock? Are we able to swap the unit for a "New and Improved" RB1100AH? What is the exact difference between the two? Are there any issues using it that we should be aware of?

Realy no one knows? How much BGP routes RB1100AH and RB1100AHx2 can handle.
will it normaly work with 3+ full BGP tables and what throughput can it handle with this config.
Also basic firewall will be in use.
LOL, nice answer... I must have missed something... I thought people talked to others with respect when dealing on an official forum.yeah right, and Apple allows you to swap iPhone 3G for iPhone 4 just like that.So what happens to people who already have RB1100AH from the limited stock? Some people have written on the forum that with 2 or 3 feeds they got 300Mbit. You will need more RAM for such a setup (2GB instead of just 512MB, but I think these will ship with 2GB actually). Also, the AHx2 has the advantage, that it will have two cores, so if routing eats all resources on core#1, the core#2 will have available resources for all other processes and RouterOS will work as usual.Realy no one knows? How much BGP routes RB1100AH and RB1100AHx2 can handle.

Good information. Any other difference between AH and AHx2 ?Also, the AHx2 has the advantage, that it will have two cores
no, that's the only big difference, as far as I know.Good information. Any other difference between AH and AHx2 ?Also, the AHx2 has the advantage, that it will have two cores
That's more of the answer I was looking for. There is nothing limited, and no "fixes". We wouldn't sell partly-working devices as you are implying. The RB1100AH that were shipped beginning of this year are perfectly fine and working devices with no compromises.
We had first production run of RB1100AH, it was smaller than usual, so supply was limited.
Then we will have a production batch with an improved design because of some supplier changes. Simple evolution of a product.
Janis:
to be fair - yes. however a decent x86 (like Core i3 or Core i5 or Xeon) can survive much much bigger pps flood.
I've tested RB1100AH vs i3 router: RB's CPU maxed when a simple queue with 500mbps datarate enabled, while x86 said only ~20-30%.
(iperf test with routing)
RB1100AH - iperf max 980/~350 mbps with 99% cpu
x86 - iperf 980/980mbps with 2 cores loaded, 2cores free (Core i3)
(maybe my measures was bad)
not at this time yet.wpeople,
Can you share your maximum RB1100AH pps figure?
Thanks,
Everton
Thanks janisk, I take you intended to comment on Atheros8316 right?not at this time yet.wpeople,

Will the upcoming RB1100AH and RB100AHx2 models come with switch chip Atheros8316 ?
I think they ship end of next week, or soAny update on when these (rb1100AH) will be out to the distributors?
thanks
What? If my memory it's not wrong I remember the old RB1100AH had IPSec acceleration isn't it ?Our future product, the AHx2 will have hardware acceleration
The new one is a different design. It also has no fans (silent). But the performance has been drastically improved, nerly 500'000 pps is possible now, so performance for IPsec will be great anyway. What? Please ask your local distributor for price and availability, those should already be known, but they depend on regionOk, we need to see if the price has increased too. If it loses one very good feature talking about secured VPNs but it gains a bit more speed I think it should get a bit lower price.
There is a planned release date for the AHx2 ?
sorry, fixed. So MT need to fix some documentations. In the user guide of RB1100, written RB1100AH has IPsec acceleration.
I can make it for you later. What configuration?anyone has a benchmark of RB1100AH (no IPSec acceleration) IPSEC tunnel thruput?
i would be interested to compare against older (prototype) RB1100AH (with IPSec) - I could make ~400mbps with it.
it's on our webpage already, including throughput infoHey any news about RB1100AHx2 ?
ogh, pardon me, so it's should be allready available to order from sellers?it's on our webpage already, including throughput infoHey any news about RB1100AHx2 ?
