RB600 and power options voltage level

Sat Jun 04, 2011 11:06 am

Hi, I've installed a RB600 bought with 18VDC power supply.
For installation I've used a simple 12VDC battery (solar panel) and POE injector: during day it's correctly working but in the night I loose connection.
I've always worked with RB433.

Checking datasheet it's said RB433 works from 10 to 28 VDC (POA and jack), but about RB600 it's said it works 10 to 56 volts (jack) or 38 to 56 volts (POE).

Anyone can tell me how could my RB work at 13 to 15 VDC from POE?
Maybe isn't a stable power supply, but which is the minimum voltage to make RB600 work from POE?
Thanks.

If we need to run RB600 or RB800 on lower voltage that suports on poe, we use pasive poe splitter. Easy way. But if i can advise you, ill not use so low voltage, better you use 2x12V becuase you have lower curent and more room over the lowest possible voltage.

I have no big problems to use a 48 VDC power supply and POE; but I just was curious to know the effective voltages.
