Is this 12-24V absolute rating for the RB1200, or is it reasonably safe to go a little below 12V or above 24V? Some other routerboards were specified for a wider range like 8-30V.
I'd like to use a lead-acid battery backup power supply, either 12V or 24V one, as a more efficient alternative to UPS. This means either 10-14V or 20-28V range (low battery cut off to fully charged), both a bit outside the 12-24V spec. Will the RB1200 run down to 10V, or up to 28V with no damage - or is that too risky? Similar issue with your competitors radios, specified for 12-24V too - but my tests confirm they still work at 10V PoE over 20m of good cat5e FTP, wasn't brave enough to try if they survive 28V though.
