WANTED Rackmount switch with SwOS from Mikrotik

Tue Oct 18, 2011 10:18 pm

After my experience with the RB250G switch featuring SwOS I would like to see how may other people would like to see other swtich products from Mikrotik.

Maybe some other features like PoE and fiber ports too. Is anyone else interested in such a product?

rackmount, same function as RB250GS but 16 and 24 ports. As compensation for switch from tp-link (TL-SL2218WEB and TL-SL2428WEB). They have only Fast Ethernet and 1 or 2 Gigabit Ethernet for uplink, but Gigabit Ethernet on all ports would have been better.

Agreed, a SwOS device with 24 or 48 ports would be nice. Even nicer if SwOS had a winbox style GUI.

Given the recent product announcements it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to then add SFP ports for uplinks too :-)

I would buy them if they had a CLI as good as RouterOS and 24 or 48 ports with SFP uplinks

The best product is the 48 port rack mount routerboard with mikrotikos :)

Yes, rack mounted 24 port SwOS based switch would be appreciated. Also rack mounted version of rb450/g would be welcomed.

48 port RouterOS. Creating a second operating system/interface is a mistake IMHO (think CatOS).

Who needs that? There are a lot of cheap and good switches on the market. Why to create another one? A Switch with "MT-OS" is great.
The whole SWOS was a failure....
