PERFORMANCE THROUGHPUT ISSUES 750UP

Sun Oct 07, 2012 7:20 am

Hello, we have begun using the 750UP (after upgrades to current firmware) generally performed well in POE functions to power radios, always taking into account poe cable length issues.

But we decided to test two 750UP back to back with an ethernet certified cable (3ft length) in a lab setting, with no POE devices connected to it. just AC Powersupply to 750UP to certified cable to 750UP to Power Supply AC.

The issue is that we register throughput of no higher than 10Mbps. The test was done with two laptops one on each end running jperf. This is a test we have performed several times in our wireless links and usually we get reliable stats from it, 20, 40, 60, 80Mbps tcp. depneding on link conditions.

In this case of the lan test we expected to benchmark the 750UP at somewhere below 100Mbps but not below 10Mbps. The data sheet does not state clearly if the interface is 10/100, though on the Eth Throughput test it states as follows:
RB7xx/OmniTIK Series @400Mhz (Ethernet only test)

IP Firewall Conntrack Mode
64 byte frames 512 byte frames 1518 byte frames
Mbps Fps Mbps Fps Mbps Fps
off off Bridging 47.1 92000 358.4 87500 452.97 37300

QUESTION IS, is this a known issue and we should just expect the 750UP not to yield higher than 10Mbps not even the 47Mpbs listed.
thanks for any suggestions.
regards,

Please actually show us your testing tolopogy. Was the 750 routing or switching? If switching were you using "/interface bridge" or were you setting "master-port" settings?

What was the CPU like on the 750? Need more details.

thats results is using ether1 to ether2-5

if you do the test between ether2-5 (ex. ether2 to ether3 ) will be the half

Alright, lets do this again.

Please paste the output of

/interface export compact
/ip address export compact
