Looking for an ADSL solution

Thu Oct 11, 2012 4:48 pm

Hello.
I am currently using mikrotik based network for one of my clients and we use the dude to manage it.
We are very happy with it.
I am looking for a similar way to control adsl based wifi routers for a different client (distributed soho installation)
I couldn't find any Mikrotik routers with built-in adsl support and I don't want to use an adsl modem and a mikrotik router together (I want everything to be in one box).
Am I missing something? is there a microtik router out there with adsl support either built-in or via minipci card?

I hope the next question would be aprpropriate...:
If there is no way for me to build a mikrotik based adsl network, is there a "competing" product with centralized managment that offers good (preferabily linux based) routers with adsl support with wifi built in?

Thank you.
Dave.

No, mikrotik does not have anything with ADSL. As far as another solution, I'm not sure. Try searching around online. I'm sure there is something.

Solution is using some cheap ADSL router as a bridge (not router/modem) and setting up PPPoE on mikrotik. Then ADSL router does nothing, just acting as switch.

This works if your provider has pppoe. If your isp uses rfc1483 this solution, as far as I know, this solution does not work.
