Some one with experience changing damaged ether/radio chip?

Thu Dec 13, 2012 1:31 pm

I m sure our and to all of u number of SXT is rising
so probability - after a bad bad storm /weather is bigger to have damaged equipment
I have several SXT with damaged ether port only one with damaged radio - but all is relayed to bad weather except the one with damaged radio
I have friend who is deeply involve in this business - more with mobiles and he have experience changing my ether chips on my UBNT Loco
(UBNT ether chips can be find on marked like 2-3euro per piece)
ok to the point about fixing 1 SXT
It was easy to find where is radio chip but its very very hard to change it as he told me he need hours of work and at the and he cant give guaranty that it will work
so we try second option changing damaged ether but he cant locate chip so he change three chips (cheeps were taken out from this SXT with damaged radio)
and finally it works but there was a catch after putting new chips on SXT - there was new generated license so I need new license key (it was license 0 -24h license)

so If any one have experience pls join and share

Grounding like in this instruction should prevent this from happening: http://routerboard.com/RBSXTG2HnD
