750UP and IP phones

Thu Apr 11, 2013 11:20 pm

Have anybody used 750UP to power up IP Phones by PoE?
Which models of phones are compatible?
THX!

Most IP phones I've come across are based on the 802.3af standard, which, is 48VDC.

So unless you can find an IP phone that will take 24VDC on the POE port, no IP phone would be compatible.

In my experience Cisco phones are great at accepting any PoE I (or one of my customers) have thrown at it.

I will get out my 750UP here and see if I can power my Cisco 303 G4 from it with standard power supply.

No promises about what range they do but they seem to like the Just Works approach and the Don't Blow Up build quality requirement.

Alexander
