RB951G-2HnD cpu usage problems

Fri May 03, 2013 3:05 pm

I got a RB951G-2HnD just a few days ago, and it is really a good router.

My WAN is from a pppoe client, and when I use BitTorrent at the speed of 4.5MB/s download and 700KB/s upload, I found that the cpu usage is about 58%, and I didn't apply a lot rules of Queue or firewall, just 4 rules though. So I just wanna ask whether it is normal for this router ? (screenshot attached )

Assumed that it is normal , so that means if my download speed reached about 10MB/s or above, so this router will be fully worked and won't be able to be faster , right ?

By the way, is there any thing I can do to analyze the router's cpu usage, I mean something like 'top' tool in most linux distributions?

thanks a lot.

you can check what process uses CPU with the '/tool profile' command.

Seems normal. When I tested RB2011 without L2TP/PPPoE and without rules in Queue the CPU-load was same at 85Mbit/sec under heavy P2P traffic. You can try overclock CPU to 750MHz to gain additional power.
