The newest version, v6.4, adjusts some issues with graphs. Perhaps you should try that version.

actually it has nothing to do with graphing.

Just updated to 6.4 and rebooted (Graphing data stayed in place, was not deleted)

eth6 records data even if i dont have anything connected to that slot
i guess it has something to do with the switch, only recording on the master port.

so how can i get recorded data on the Fast Ethernet switch (eth6 - eth10)?

If I understand correctly the switch chip in that device only reports aggregate totals. That is why the figures only report on the master port.

I believe I have seen at least one device that will show the details per port (but I can't remember where I saw it). Otherwise its only aggregation.

If you wanted to see the per port then I would expect you would have to use software bridging. With the advantages of FastPath you may be able to use that to keep an adequate performance level up for your application.

Otherwise I don't think there is a way to see it. May be a good feature request for Mikrotik (maybe even implemented in the CRS as thats a single switch chip) but it would have to be data available to be read off the switch chip itself as diagnostic output.

Regards
Alexander

Yest that is true.. port eth1-eth5 show everything on each port, while eth6 shows everything on eth6-eth10

SOLVED:

This is what i did (im not an advanced RouterOs user)
everyting was done via Winbox:

Open Interfaces and go to the tab "Interface"
Dubbleclick on your eth7 interface
go to the tab "General"
Select the value "None" for the "Master Port" setting
Click OK

Open Bridge and go to the tab "Ports"
press the plus sign [+]
Select the value for your eth7 interface for the "Interface"
Click OK

Repeat for eth8, eth9 and eth10
Done

You're going to take a performance hit when any of the ports 6-10 have to talk to each other with that config, just an FYI.

wait for RouterOS 6.5 release. When you get that, set FE ports master-port back to ether6. Or if you know where to get 6.5rc1 pre-release that already have this feature.
